Into The Art Of Making takes us into the realm of exploring craft practices employed in the making of art and fashion.

This edition will bring together contemporary and traditional art in a state that explores the connections between them.

This project is funded by the European Union and the Support of the OACPS Secretariat - Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.

It is with great pleasure we announce our new advisory member — Professor Duniya Giles Gambo

Duniya Giles Gambo PhD, is a Professor of Art History and Criticism at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria. His researches sometimes, explores the intersections of visual and theatre arts, with a focus on their multidisciplinary potentials for community interventions, education and development. His research findings and perspectives have been widely published in different catalogues, book chapters, and reputable journals in the areas of human rights, modern Nigerian arts, environmental studies and design, African studies, language, arts and humanities, as well as, contemporary art practice and theory.

Professor Duniya also brokers conversations amongst artists and stakeholders in the art world, through the creation of safe and enabling spaces for deliberation. In this regard, he recently launched a talk-shop tagged Dandalin Muhawara, where he engages in “difficult” conversations about the lived experiences and struggles of contemporary Nigerian artists.

It is with great pleasure we announce our new advisory member — Mr. Jahman Oladejo Anikulapo [ @jahmanoladejo ]

Jahman is a culture curator, producer , programmist and consultant to major local and international cultural projects such as National Festival for Arts (NAFEST) , African Drums Festival (ADF) , Pan African Film Festival ( FESPACO) , and Festival Sur Le Niger (FSN) to mention a few. He spent several years in Kaduna State, contributing to shaping the art scene along with other key players.

He is currently Prog. Chairman Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) as well as the Executive Director, Culture Advocates Caucus (CAC) through which he has directed programming contents for major cultural projects across the continent and the globe.

In our bid to improve in the quality and quantity of delivering art and fashion from across Northern Nigeria and beyond and to achieve our vision, we are excited to be working along side remarkable individuals who have made a significant mark on the global cultural industry as well as set a pace for us to follow.

We are excited for what this year has in store !
